『心偈』47

「絲ノ道 法ノ道」

        柳宗悦『心偈』

 

The road of  yarn    the road of teachings.

 

We saw a beautiful weaving.

plain weave and twill weave is anything is OK.

Striped clothes and cross striped clothes are either will do.

Where are the beauty of them coming from?

 

There are taste of material, profits of color tone and various factor.

What will be bringing the beauty of them?

The rule the warp and weft cross is entrusted the way of weaving.

We are blocking from selfishness of men in here.

Whatever you do, if you break the law, weaving is disordered.

Though man weave a cloth, it is only within the law.

Then the way of yarn is the way of the law.

The weaving received the law honestly, it is guaranteed the beauty. 

Mercy of salvation by faith is enormous.

It is really nice that weaving is connected deeply with the world of salvation.

Protection of the law is gracious.

『心偈』46

「到リ得バ 事モナシ」

      柳宗悦『心偈』

You come to there, there is nothing.

 

There is a famous poetry of Sotoba who is poet in the Northern Sung of China that sings this truth.

That is the poetry "In Rozan it is misty raining. etc"

We see a mountain and a river.

When we see inconsiderately, a mountain is only a mountain and a river is only a river.

Then we began considering variously, a mountain isn't only a mountain and a river isn't only a river.

Everything changes marvelous.

But we think more deeply than another one step, so a mountain  is a mountain itself and a river is a river itself.

There is no trouble up to a stage.

The idea of Zen is always buji, bunann and heijo.

When you say about the idea, it isn't buji. You already sink to emergency.

It happens to raise a storm.

So there is no decision of relief without realizing peace.

Peace means uniqueness.

Even if we talk about that, it is coming to an end.

Because we say peace is non- duality.

Buddhism don't have the doctrine but non- duality.

Non- duality and peace is different words, but they say same thing.

『心偈』45

「ナドテユタケシ 貧シサ ナクバ」

            柳宗悦『心偈』

 

How rich it is!  If it were not for the poverty.

 

 

Poverty is possessing nothing.

Especially we don't have desire of ourselves.

I don't talk about poverty that admire rich.

It isn't poverty but only Raga.

Here we find out that poverty is selfless belonging in nothing.

Then poverty is the very richness.

From ancient times virtue of poverty is a reason respected ib religion.

The wealth of the world  is hard to become the Buddhism with the way toapproach.

 Anyways it brings cause and poverty of hearts.

"Honorable poverty" is purity going with throwing away desire.

So ”Heart to know contentment 

Poverty shows us definite promise of happy.

These poverty is calmness.

Nothing is calmess but poverty, calmess is wealth is povety.

『心偈』44

「ナ タジロギソ 一人 ヒトリカハ」

             柳宗悦『心偈』

Don't step back alone, you aren't always alone.

 

"Tajirogi" means hesitation, flinching, and delusion.

wind and wave of this world are strong and heavy.

Especially when the world is dark and is depressed, the resistance of people is strong for the man who fry a flag of the truth.

It is to say the truth that was never misunderstood didn't exist.

That is reality of the sad world.

But don't you make progress?

The truth is never lonely.

One is not alone at all.

The one becomes two people sometimes and becomes three people.

A pilgrim's stick  is written "dogyo nininn." 

If we feel lonely, but we walk with Buddha (or Daishi).

So we at least travel two people.

We are always together with a reliable power more than anyone else.

The travel of truth isn't alone.

 

『心偈』43

「見テ知リソ 知リテ ナ見ソ」

           柳宗悦『心偈』

You should know after you watch. Don't watch after you know.

 

"Na miso" is negative words that means "don't watch."

"Mi" means intuition.

"Ti” means concept.

At first we let intuition act and get something. After we arrange concepts. 

So it is no way that we get intuition from concepts.

We give warning "Don't watch after you know.""You shouldn't know at first.  You

shouldn't

 watch after."

"Watch" is seeing directly.

"Know" is looking from outside and knowing it.

"Mi" happens "Ti”, but "Ti”can't happen "Mi."

Even if "Ti” happens "Mi," it is only within the limits of  "Ti.”

Intuition releases all, concept limits all.

Then You should watch first. After that you know.

If you watch after you know, you can't watch naive without "Ti” how to watch it.

You shouldn't prevent "Mi" from "Ti.”

"Ti” happens from only "Mi."

Relationship between "shin" and "Ti" is also same.

Belief can't happen from knowledge.

If you don't believe before you know,  no matter how you can get to know.

『心偈』42

「今見ヨ イツ 見ルモ」

         柳宗悦『心偈』

Watch now, whenever you watch.

 

When there was a phrase "whenever I listen Hototogisu, I feel it was a first time", I memorize it.

It seems that it says beauty of Hototogisu's voice, but indeed it says how to hear the voice of it.

I was asked " how do I see the beauty?"

There is no secrets.

Every time you should see "Watch now."

You receive innocent heart.

So it reflect clearly in the mirror of eyes.

If you watch Whenever you should watch now, everything appear. 

For example you watch it yesterday, you should watch now. 

In any time eyes and hearts work newly, beauty can appear its truth.

It is only about beauty.

All the truth show its shape to the full, when you only watch now.

It is at the moment, we watch truly it is  a happening only now.

 

 

 

 

『心偈』41

「魚ハ游ゲド 水ニ跡ナキ」

           柳宗悦『心偈』

Though a fish swim, it shows no marks.

 

This is the scene  that Zen priest images willingly. 

Fishes swim in the water, birds fly in the sky.

But swimming fish and flying birds don't remain marks in the water and in the sky.

An act is finishing in the act itself.

It doesn't remain marks lightly.

However human acts is  dragging along so strong.

Attachments restrict their body and heart in vain.

We can point out it is act of fantasy.Because all of attachment don't have themselves.

It is only they feel bad though they imagine fantasy and they feel it treasure.

So act is good for now.

It is ok that has no merits。

If you seek to search merits, you may follow the shadow and tie yourself.
