『心偈』10

柳宗悦『心偈』

10「彌陀モ 六字ノ 捨艸ヤ」

 

Amitabha Buddha sells at a great sacrifice to six latters, also.

 

"Six letters" mean six letters, Namo Amitabha Buddha.

It is said "myogo."

Reciting this six letters is called "shomyo."

It is prepared the easy way of the Buddha to have fortune of the Buddha for lower classes.

It's a great way.

Everyone can recite Namo Amitabha Buddha by word of mouth.

Reciting this six letters is throwing yourself into the six letters.

Throwing yourself means getting rid of yourself.

You devote yourself to the six letters.

But it isn't the side of man.

To relieve the ordinary people by the six letters means the Buddha runs risk of hisself to the six letters, too.

The Buddha is throwing himself into the six letters.

The Buddha sells himself at a great sacrifice to six letters.

The Buddha give up himself to be going to save all the men.

It is  the six letters that the men and the Buddha throwing himself away and the place to meet one another.

The teaching of praying to Amitabha Buddha reminds us, if there isn't "the six letters," there aren't the men and The Buddha, too.

柳宗悦『心偈』

 

Amitabha Buddha loves me, not because I have a fine character.

It's just the opposite.

 I am an ordinary people the very bottom, and deeply sinful indeed, so God has an eye on me.

I am not proud of the happiness that only I have.

In fact, Anyone can croon the poem.

Because we are all sinful.

Then Everyone are the lovers of God.

You should think I am the only man deeply sinful, so most especially I am the lover of the God.

Amitabha Buddha has an eye on just me whoever I am. 

I exist now, because I have a reason that I can't never leave my destiny.

Francis Thompson who is the Catholicism poet wrote poetry ”God is the lover with fear." I feel the same way.

You could affirm the truth clearly, you imagine the mother who has a kid with a disability has the very sympathy for him.

9「見初ムトナ 彌陀 コノ吾レヲ」

 

It's me that  single out by Amitabha Buddha.

 

In plain words, I was fall in love with Amitabha Buddha at first sight.

But you shouldn't misunderstand it.

I never boasted of me.

 

テンポよく訳せそうな節ですが、

新学期1週間がんばったので、今夜は早く休みます。

また明日。

The mercy of Amitabha would aim at a miserable man like that.

So the more you are miserable, you are haven the mercy of the Buddha.

It means that you are invited the main guest of the Buddha at first.

Who is the invited man?

It is only me, an ordinary people the very bottom.

Whoever  I am.

8「想ヘ誰ゾ 御佛ノ マラウドト」

 

Who is the main guest of the Budha? It's me in spite of who I am.

 

"maroudo" means a guest of honor.

It means "Consider who is the main guest of the Buddha today?"

Incompetent as I am, whoever, whenever and where ever, it's me that the main guest of the Buddha's ceremony.

But you shouldn't misunderstand it.

Man doesn't invite who is qualified competent.

Who has a right to attend the Buddha's ceremony?

『心偈』7

柳宗悦『心偈』

「追ウヤ 佛ヲ 追ハレツルニ」

 People run after the Buddha in spite of people are ran down the Buddha.

 

Many people think that we ask somebody the way, adore Buddha's teaching, run after the Buddha and pile up various efforts.

It seems just like that, but if I run after the Buddha, in fact " we run after the Buddha,"and "the Buddha runs after us indeed" is the aspect is that.

The fact is weakness of us that we don't have the power of running after the Buddha.

Because the Buddha knows it, he doesn't let us go.

Though we understand this, If we are in far from the Buddha, the power of the Buddha wouldn't put us far away.

However we run after the Buddha, we can't reach the speed or  the strength of the Buddha run after us.

You might reach the world of religion already, if you understand followed passiveness of is much more  than active that I run after the Buddha.

They are running after the Buddha  is ran after the Buddha at once.

"death" means "the coming" of Buddha to welcome the spirits of the dead.

 

 

まだまだですが始動。今日もup。まだ三日坊主に満たないですが。

 

数字で見ると、去年は一昨年の5分の1の数しかアップできていませんでした。

『心偈』全体のほぼ3分の1が訳出されていて、あと3分の2が今年の仕事です。

そこからがいよいよ本番で、全体の整合性というか、そもそもの単語の正当性について練って行かねばなりません。

 

去年はPTA、子ども会、地区委員など、奉仕活動に精を出しました。

もうしばらくそれも続きますが、今年は何としても完訳します。
