『心偈』66

「松　根強シ　枝聳ユ」

「竹　幹直シ　陰清シ」

「梅　香リミツ　雪フルモ」

　　　　　　　　　柳宗悦『心偈』

A pine tree, the roots are strong, branch of the tree rise up.

Bamboo, trunk is straight and shadow of the tree is clear. 

The scent of plum fills in the air as it is snowing.

Pine trees, Bamboo and plum are only subject matters of convention.

There is nothing to explain, it is simple that the subject matters.
